Packing some serious grunt, the GR-Sport is the recipient of a generous 10% performance boost over its 2.8ℓ Legend and Raider stablemates, making it SA’s most power-conscious diesel Hilux. Dispensing 165 kW of power at 3 000 r/min, while dishing up a substantial 550 Nm of torque between 1600 and 2800 r/min, this performance is harnessed by a slick six-speed auto transmission and – for maximum engagement – it’s equipped with paddle shifters.
The GR-Sport’s aggressively chiseled “Tundra-inspired” face features a unique slimline headlight design and a bolt upright grille with bold Toyota lettering, leaving you in no doubt that this is one extra special Hilux. Other distinctive characteristics include a unique front bumper which delivers an improved approach angle – this is paired with a bash plate, new fog lamp bezels and custom GR decals for an even sportier look.
